Surpassing Peace

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6&7 NLT

Peace. It’s an interesting thing. You notice when its not there, and when it is there, you marvel at its mysterious power.

This time tomorrow, I will be waking up from my posterior fossa decompression surgery for Chiari 1 Malformation and Syringomyelia.

I’ve been inundated with text messages, emails, posts, and phone calls from people I love and trust, who are encouraging and praying for me. A common question I’m asked is “How are you feeling”? The truth is, there are a few nerves as I’ve never had surgery before, however, what I feel the most is the greatest sense of the aforementioned peace. Mysterious, necessary, life-giving, God-breathed peace. And for that reason, I am grateful.

Thank you for all of those who are continuing to pray. Also, please pray for my loved ones who will be waiting at the hospital while I’m in surgery. I would love for them to be able to experience the same rich peace that I have while I’m under.

Here is a timeline of what the day will look like tomorrow:

4:30AM – Wake up.

5:45AM – Check in @ Hoag.

6:30AM – Surgery prep, paperwork, etc.

7:30AM – Actual surgery time.

11:00AM – Celebrating the beginning of a life without the debilitating symptoms and dangerous realities of Chiari 1 and Syringomyelia!

Please check back here tomorrow for updates. My good friend Alex Jones will be posting on my behalf.

God is good.

John Stearns

We are continuing to pray John, in a very full throne room where so many who love you have come to sit and wait at HIS feet on your behalf. ♥️
